Abstract: The study of monetary poverty in Ecuador is directly integrated into the data and information provided by the National Employment and Underemployment Survey (ENEMDU, 2023), which focuses on evaluating the incidence of variables such as the level of education. , geographical location, work environment influence the categorization of a household called poor, for which one econometric models were applied, such as logit, which helped to identify that those individuals who have a level of less than secondary education and people from rural areas have a greater chance of being in poverty, while those people with adequate employment and academic level evidence a substantial economic condition to satisfy their needs, where a type of methodology of quantitative nature through the integration of McFadden's pseudo R², AIC and BIC, finding determining findings for the selection of the Logit model as the most efficient to analyze the object of study, highlighting that there is a significant socioeconomic inequality between the urban and rural areas, as well as like the levels of education, employment are of vital importance to reduce poverty rates, concluding that State intervention is essential through public policies aimed at urban areas, improving the quality of life through infrastructure in basic services, health and education, promoting investment with the aim of combating poverty in all its dimensions.
Description: El estudio de la pobreza monetaria en Ecuador está integrado de forma directa en los datos e información que otorga la Encuesta Nacional de Empleo y Subempleo (ENEMDU, 2023), el mismo que se enfoca en evaluar la incidencia de las variables como el nivel de educación, ubicación geográfica, entorno laboral influyen en la categorización de un hogar denominado como pobre, para lo cual se aplicó el modelo Logit , el cual contribuyó a identificar que aquellos individuos que cuentan con un nivel de educación inferior al secundario y las personas de las zona rurales tienen mayores posibilidades de encontrarse en la pobreza.
