Análisis del derecho de participación de jóvenes en procesos electorales del Ecuador.

Abstract

The present research project focuses on analyzing the right of politica l participation of young people in electoral processes in Ecuador, identifying as a general problem the conditioning perception of young Ecuadorians about their rights of participation in electoral processes, highlighting the lack of knowledge, practical obstacles, perception about the transparency of electoral processes, civic education and stigmatization in politics, having as a general objective to understand the scope, limitations and challenges of political participation of young Ecuadorians. The methodology employed is based on scientific research, using a deductive and analytica l approach; employing documentary and descriptive research techniques, as well as an explanatory level of research. The analysis of results focuses on the legal framework, human rights in the electoral field and a comparative approach to youth participation at the international level. The results highlight the relevance of the legal framework in protecting the rights of young people in political participation, although significa nt challenges such as lack of civic education and institutional barriers are identified, it is concluded that addressing the identified challenges, such as lack of civic education, and promoting measures such as increased political education could increase youth participation and thereby strengthen the representativeness and of the political system.
