Abstract: The present experimental work was carried out at the Río Suma experimental farm in El Carmen canton, with the purpose of evaluating the effect of fertilization with different doses of Zinc chelates on the agronomic performance of Tanzania grass (Panicum maximum) through a trial with plots of 2 x 2 m (4 m2). Treatments were based on the application of five levels of zinc chelate (0, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 ml/ha) and a randomized complete block design was used. The variables studied were plant height, leaf and stem length, leaf width, stem diameter and number of leaves, which were evaluated from age 20 every 5 days for 35 days. With the analysis of this research, it was determined that treatment 3 (1.0 l Zinc metalloosate ha-1) had better results than the rest of the treatments, surpassing them in most of the variables such as plant height, leaf length, stem length, leaf width and stem diameter, emphasizing also that treatment 5 stood out reaching a greater number of leaves on day 35, suggesting the use of intermediate doses between T3 and T5 for a greater effect.
