Abstract: | The present study was carried out in the community of Sumita Pita, with the objective of evaluating the impact of different doses of nitrogen on the severity of Black Sigatoka in the banana cultivar 'Barraganete'. Using a Completely Randomized Block Design, seven treatments with three replications were analyzed. The independent variables were nitrogen doses, and the dependent variables included Black Sigatoka incidence and severity, as well as leaf area. The results showed that no single nitrogen dose significantly affected disease severity in the early stages of the crop. A lower severity was observed with 50 kg N ha-1 between weeks 18 and 38, indicating that severity is more influenced by phenological stages than by the amount of nitrogen. No direct relation was found between nitrogen dose and Black Sigatoka severity, and no significant differences were found in leaf area and crop yield related to nitrogen. |
