Abstract: | The present research was carried out with the objective of evaluating the losses in the barraganete plantain harvest with the use of treated sheaths, in the canton of El Carmen, for which four treatments were evaluated: T1 (Sheaths + Sulfur), T2 (Sheaths + Bifenthrin), T3 (Sheath + Bifenthrin + Sulfur) and T4 (Sheaths without additive - Control) arranged in a Complete Randomized Design. The variables evaluated per axis were: of handling (number of fingers curved, spoiled, broken neck, curved, dirty latex, tear, poor crown, knife cut; of environment (number of fingers above grade, sunburn, Espeklin, low grade, yellow tip), of cultivation (number of fingers with sticking, twins, malformed, twins); pests (number of fingers with red spot, Trips, malformed, twins) and diseases (number of fingers with virosis and cigar tip); in addition to production variables (bunch weight kg, number of hands, number of fingers, yield (t ha-1) and economic analysis). The results showed that the T4 (Control, only sheaths without additive) had the highest percentage of losses with 66,71%, followed by the T1 (Sheaths + Sulfur) with 55,01%. T3 (Casings + Bifenthrin + Sulfur) had the third highest percentage of losses with 24,31%. Finally, the T2 (Fundas + Bifenthrin) was the best as it reported the lowest percentage of losses in all axes evaluated at harvest, with a drastic reduction in losses, compared to the Control with 48,88%. The financial analysis revealed that, in the production of Barraganete plantain, the highest marginal rate of return was obtained by treatment 2 (Sheaths + Bifenthrin) with 558,71%. |
