Abstract: | In Ecuador, as in most countries in the world, the decision was made to suspend inperson educational services, in order to prevent educational institutions from being sources of contagion among students. Thus, the only option available was virtual education. Virtual education allows greater flexibility in terms of the management of times, spaces, distances, providing greater and better learning opportunities to educational communities. The general objective of this scientific investigation is defined as follows; Identify the importance, relationship and effects that existed with the nexus of connectivity and academic performance of 8th year students of basic general education in the EU. “El Carmen” during the Covid-19 pandemic. The methodology used was guided by the positivist paradigm, with a quantitative approach, and a descriptive field design. The survey technique was used to collect data. The instrument used was a questionnaire where the measurement of the questions was applied using the Likert scale, validated by expert teachers respectively. The population involved in the study was 60 students from the named degree and institution. The results confirmed the importance, relationship and effect that existed in the nexus of connectivity and academic performance. It was concluded by affirming an existence in the significant correlation between connectivity and academic performance, in the “El Carmen” Educational Unit; it was also possible to demonstrate through the Spearman correlation, that there is a significantly strong statistic, as the students have better connectivity, their academic performance will improve, this may be because better connectivity provides access to more online educational resources, facilitates communication and collaboration with teachers and classmates, and allows for more efficient and effective learning. |
