Abstract

The term "Auditory Skill" refers to the ability to perceive, interpret and process sounds effectively. On the other hand, "Language Development" focuses on the progressive acquisition of linguistic skills, from the first babbling to the production of complex words and phrases, influenced by biological, environmental and social factors. These two variables seem to be intrinsically linked, even from the pre-natal stage, however, their relationship is still ambiguous. This systematic review aims to analyze how Auditory Skills influence language acquisition and production in early childhood. It will examine the existing literature on the topic, identifying the main findings and gaps in current research. It also aims to contribute to the understanding of Prenatal Auditory Development, in order to know how human beings experience a developing sound world, and to provide relevant information for professionals in fields such as speech therapy/audiology, education and research in human development.
