Sectores económicos y su aporte en la balanza comercial de Ecuador en el periodo 2018-2023.

Abstract

For the identification of relevant trends within the most representative economic sectors of Ecuador, this research aimed to analyze the economic sectors and their contribution to Ecuador's trade balance during the period 2018-2023. This was achieved through a mixed methodology combining quantitative and qualitative analysis, including deductive, descriptive, and correlational methods to gather historical information while maintaining alignment with the objectives and progress of the study, determining the relationship between variables. Additionally, a descriptive-comparative analysis was employed, reviewing the various percentage fluctuations of the most representative categories in the trade balance, studying the internal and external economic factors influencing these variations. The research relied on statistics published by the Central Bank of Ecuador, international organizations, and economic experts, considering the defined period of study. As a result, the analysis suggests that Ecuador has the potential to diversify and strengthen its economy, provided that comprehensive policies are adopted, including innovation, investment in technology, and greater participation in global markets. These actions, it is concluded, would not only enable more balanced growth but also reduce risks associated with dependency on specific sectors.
