Evaluación de la biodiversidad por la restauración en la Isla del Amor - Parroquia Cojimíes 2024.

Abstract

Cojimíes has a diverse coastal ecosystem characterized by mangroves growing in intertidal areas, beaches, and estuaries that host rich biodiversity, highlighting the importance of studying and identifying its wildlife. This study was conducted on Isla del Amor, within the “Manglar del Río Muisne – Cojimíes Wildlife Refuge,” a key area due to its ecological functions, such as coastal protection, water filtration, carbon storage, and serving as a habitat and breeding zone for multiple species. The approach included vegetation monitoring through aerial and satellite photography, fauna inventories using capture and release methods, analysis of ecological interactions such as trophic networks, and socioeconomic evaluations, utilizing technological tools like mobile applications and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
