Abstract

Audiovisual production is important in communication because of its impact on society; it transmits creative and dynamic messages through visual and sound components, capturing the public's attention through the combination of elements. Audio is essential as it establishes a rhythm in the story and influences the viewer's emotions through music and sound effects; in addition, it is an oral expression when narrating. Audio is not only a complement to a story, it is what amplifies the viewer's experience with a good narrative, giving a differentiating factor to the production. The microphone is the tool responsible for making the conversion as cleanly as possible so that it can be recorded, processed and reproduced with the greatest possible fidelity. Having evolved a lot since the early days, its advances have not had the same media impact as other elements of production, such as camera sensors or image recording formats. Microphones have their own characteristics and qualities (sensitivity, response curves, etc.) all aimed at the same objective: to provide the best possible "image" of the sound to be recorded.
