Abstract

Ecuador is implementing strategies in its foreign trade to align with the Sustainable Development Goals, seeking to promote economic growth, social inclusion and environmental sustainability. One of the main strategies is to diversify exports towards high value-added products, such as organic cocoa, which reduces dependence on primary products and benefits small producers. In addition, human capital is being strengthened through training programs that improve the quality of employment, especially in rural areas. Investment in physical and digital infrastructure also plays a crucial role, as it improves competitiveness and facilitates access for small and medium-sized businesses to international markets. However, Ecuador faces important challenges, such as the lack of adequate infrastructure and the need for innovation, which requires policies that promote responsible and sustainable business practices to achieve balanced and competitive growth in the global arena.
