Análisis del comercio internacional del aguacate HASS Ecuatoriano, producción agrícola y la exportación.

Abstract

The Hass avocado is an important agricultural product for Ecuador, driven by increasing demand in international markets such as the United States and Europe. However, Ecuador faces challenges in maintaining competitiveness due to the lack of necessary international certifications, such as GLOBALG.A.P., USDA Organic, and Fair Trade, which are required to access these markets. While Ecuador benefits from favorable climatic conditions, the absence of these certifications prevents the country from competing with leading producers like Mexico, Chile, and Peru. This research focuses on the issues surrounding the competitiveness of Ecuadorian Hass avocado in international markets, with particular emphasis on certifications and food safety. Using a quantitative and descriptive approach, the study examines the barriers to obtaining these certifications and proposes strategies to improve Ecuador's competitiveness.
