Abstract: | Social media has revoltionized how people interact, significantly impacting Generation Alpha, the first group born in a completely digital environment. This research analyzes how these plataforms influence behavior, focusing on neomania and communication. A mixed-method qualitative and quantitative, exploratory, descriptive, and bibliographic approach was employed, utilizing surveys as a data collection tool applied to 385 Ecuadorian youth aged 15 to 19, residing in Manta. Data processed using Pearson’s method reveal strong correlations of .991 and .994, showing that prolonged exposure to social media increases young people’s susceptibility to external influence, fostering their interest in new trends and affecting their social development. These findings highlight the growing need for preventive educational strategies to mitigate negative effects while enhancing positive ones. |
