Evaluación de germinación y crecimiento inicial de plántulas de coco (Cocos nucifera L.) con diferentes sustratos en la finca Coello Navia, Rio chico - Portoviejo

Abstract

Germination and development were evaluated in the initial stage of coconut cultivation (Cocos nucifera L.) with the application of different organic substrates on the Coello Navia farm, under a Completely Randomized Block Design (DBCA), with five treatments and three repetitions. The substrates used were worm humus, peat, compost and coconut fiber; The variables evaluated were germination percentage, plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves and root length. The statistical analysis was carried out through the Infostat 2020 program, using the Tukey mean comparison test at 5%. The results showed that there are no statistically significant differences in germination, however, it was observed that T4 and T5 optimize germination and root development in the first months of the seedlings.
