Abstract: his research aimed to determine the effects of two population densities of improved native chickens on productive performance in a semi-grazing system with Rodes grass (Chloris gayana) as a nutritional supplement. To this end, 4 mobile cages were implemented on the "Lodana" experimental farm of the secular university "Eloy Alfaro" of Manabí, located in the Lodana Parish of the Santana canton. Through a quantitative experimental design, the results were processed using a Student's t-test, where variables such as weight, daily feed intake, feed conversion, consumption of Rhodes grass (Chloris gayana), carcass yield, and mortality were analyzed, evaluated by the statistical program Infostad. 96 chickens were worked with, divided into two systems: which were differentiated by the type of feed provided, S1: commercial balanced feed supplemented with 2.55 kg of Rhodas grass (Chloris gayana) at 45 days of age, increasing the dose to 4.25 kg at 75 days, and S2 with commercial balanced feed. The results of our research determine that there are statistically significant differences between the weights taken every 15 days (45, 60, 75, 90); in feed conversion, it was observed that in the system (S2) with balanced feeding, there was a greater weight gain of 14.04 kg, unlike the system (S1) with commercial balanced feed and Rhodas grass (Chloris gayana) with 10.11 kg. It is concluded that the use of Rhodes grass (Chloris gayana) is recommended as a dietary supplement.
