Abstract: Tomato cultivation is one of the most widely produced crops worldwide and the most important for Ecuador, as it is part of the Basic Family Basket due to its significant contribution to food security and its contribution to the country's economy. This bibliographic study aims to determine the use of sulfur to increase the yield and quality of tomato fruit, focusing on the town of Lodana, in the Santana canton of the Manabí province. A descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach was applied, collecting and analyzing information from the last 7 years (2017-2024). The result obtained from the descriptive research focused on sulfur as an object of study, proposing its use in agriculture. Sulfur can be used as a soil improver or restorer because it improves its structure, aeration, and permeability. As a fertilizer, it is used as a complete fertilizer, but it is used with chicken manure to increase tomato crop yields, also improving plant phenology. And as a control of diseases and insect pests, it was demonstrated that sulfocalcium broth has a broad effectiveness in controlling insects such as whiteflies, aphids, thrips and fungi such as powdery mildew, sooty mold (Akaropeltopsis) and tomato powdery mildew (Leveilulla taurica) that affect the yield and quality of the fruit.
