Abstract: This research assessed the impact of light color and intensity on the laying stage of Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica), focusing on egg production and mortality. A completely randomized block design, with a control group, was used, and 300 birds were distributed across different light color (green and blue) and intensity (12 and 16 lux) combinations. The results showed that although there were variations in egg production across treatments and evaluation weeks, the differences were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). The overall mortality was low (3.66%), suggesting that the management and environmental conditions were appropriate. However, no significant effect of light color or intensity was observed on egg production or mortality. It is concluded that, under the evaluated conditions, light color and intensity have no significant impact on the productivity or welfare of the quails. Future studies are recommended with longer evaluation periods and the inclusion of other variables such as management, feeding, and population density, to optimize poultry production.
