Abstract: An analysis of the temporal distribution of the main species of batoids captured in the area of “Los Esteros” Manta-Ecuador, between August 2023 and August 2024, 287 specimens were examined, classified into three orders, six families and nine species, recording data such as length, weight, sex and maturity stage, the study included the evaluation of abundance, size structure and temporal patterns. Among the species identified, Urotrygon chilensis stood out with 65,03%, followed by Narcine entemedor (9,44%), Urotrygon rogersi (8,74%), Urobatis tumbesensis (4,20%), Gymnura crebripunctata (4,20%), Narcine leoparda (3,15%), Pseudobatos leucorhynchus (2,80%), Rhinoptera steindachneri (2,10%) and Aetobatus laticeps (0,35%). U. chilensis presented a wide diversity of maturity stages, evidencing its character as a resident species, and the presence of juveniles highlights the importance of the area as a key habitat for its development, which suggests a high degree of susceptibility to fishing practices in the area.
