Abstract: | The Guitar Ray Pseudobatos leucorhynchus is a species that is distributed in the Eastern Central Pacific: Mazatlán, Mexico to Ecuador, including the Galapagos Islands. The present research is focused on the study of embryonic development due to the importance of obtaining comprehensive knowledge of the species, emphasizing the external morphology of the stingray. In this research, the record of the stored samples of the species was made, the description was made and based on the embryonic development of P. Leucorhynchus, in addition to the statistical database, the following morphometric data were determined: Total length, body weight of the stingray, yolk weight, total weight, sex and stages of the stingrays. There were 428 individuals, including males and females. According to the data collected, females tend to be larger than males in size and weight. The inclusion of individuals with indeterminate gender shows a consideration for the variability and sexual development within the studied population. |
