| Abstract: | Green mackerel (Decapterus macarellus) is a fish that plays a crucial role in fisheries across various tropical and subtropical regions. This research estimated age and growth by counting rings in the otoliths of 250 samples. Fish were found in a size range of 18 to 45.2 cm total length (TL), with a sex ratio of males to females of 1:1.23. Males ranged in TL from 18 to 37.4 cm (25.77 ± 3.99, n=112), while females ranged from 18 to 45.2 cm TL (27.06 ± 4.74, n=138). The Von Bertalanffy model best fit the data, yielding the following growth parameters: L∞ = 45.43 cm TL, K = 0.32 years for males and L∞ = 45.94 cm TL, K = 0.32 years for females. |
