Optimización integral del cableado estructurado y el sistema de videovigilancia en el bloque de Biología de la facultad de ciencias de la vida y Tecnologias, para Potenciar el Monitoreo Remoto en tiempo real de sus Instalaciones.

Abstract

The main objective of this project was to restructure and optimize the video surveillance system (CCTV) in the Biology block of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Technology of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí. This work was carried out due to the deficiencies identified in the existing system, such as deterioration of the structured cabling, out-of-service cameras, insufficient coverage in critical areas and irregular maintenance, aggravated by recent modifications in the infrastructure of the block. The implemented solution included the migration of the structured cabling from category 5e to 6/6A, guaranteeing greater bandwidth capacity, stability and compatibility with PoE technology. 8 additional IP cameras were installed at strategic points, covering classrooms, laboratories and other critical areas, and a state-of-the-art NVR was integrated to manage and store high-resolution recordings. The results obtained reflect a modern, robust and scalable video surveillance system, which significantly improves the perception of security, monitoring capacity and incident management in the Biology block. This project lays the foundation for future technological expansions and contributes to strengthening security in the academic environment.
