Abstract: | The research titled "Training of Pool Instructors as a Strategy for Lifeguard Training in the Crucita Parish" arises from the need to strengthen water safety in tourist and recreational facilities in Crucita, a coastal town in the province of Manabí, Ecuador. This tourist destination, known for its beaches and natural attractions, faces significant challenges in terms of safety due to the lack of trained personnel in rescue techniques, first aid, and aquatic emergency management. The main issue lies in the shortage of trained instructors and lifeguards, which puts the safety of tourists and locals at risk, affecting the perception of Crucita as a reliable destination. The research diagnoses this situation, highlighting the need to implement a training program that not only improves the technical capacity of lifeguards but also prevents accidents and ensures a safe environment for visitors. The theoretical framework of this study covers key topics such as aquatic safety regulations, rescue protocols, importance of continuous training and the benefits of having professional personnel in aquatic facilities. The methodology used includes observations, surveys and interviews carried out with relevant actors, such as security officers, potential instructors and Crucita tourist staff. The results show an urgent need to certify people under a special profile to work on aquatic safety in tourist establishments with swimming pools. expected include the certification of 15 trained instructors, a reduction The research concludes with the proposal for training for pool lifeguards in order to encourage the locality and the tourism sector about safety in aquatic facilities, as a key indicator in the management and competitiveness of tourist destinations. |

Este destino turístico, reconocido por sus playas y atractivos naturales, enfrenta desafíos significativos en términos de seguridad debido a la falta de personal capacitado en técnicas de rescate, primeros auxilios y manejo de emergencias acuáticas. |
