Impacto Económico de la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial en la Ciudad de Bahía de Caráquez.

Abstract

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) adapts by promoting inclusion and community development, with projects that improve educational infrastructure, access to basic services and support for communities. This adaptation responds to the particularities of the environment, improving the quality of life of the inhabitants and creating a more sustainable and supportive business environment. Bahía de Caráquez faces challenges related to poverty, inequality, environmental degradation and vulnerability to natural disasters. This study seeks to address these challenges by promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth through corporate social responsibility (CSR). The implementation of CSR practices can generate a positive impact on the local economy by improving the competitiveness of companies and, simultaneously, raising the quality of life of the inhabitants through the implementation of initiatives that benefit vulnerable groups, reinforce education, health and general well-being. This research is based on the growing importance of sustainability framed in the global agenda, highlighting mainly how companies that integrate CSR in their business practices are better prepared to face contemporary challenges. Methodologically, the study combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. 48 commercial establishments were surveyed to collect data on their CSR practices, complemented by a bibliographic review. The article is structured in five sections: introduction to the topic, description of the methodology, analysis of results, discussion based on bibliographic sources and finally conclusions are offered. This analysis applied in the city of Bahía de Caráquez, Manabí province in Ecuador, can serve as an example for other developing communities, providing a guide for the implementation of CSR strategies that promote sustainable development.
