Abstract

The purpose of this project is to identify the tourism potential of the creation of a community tourism establishment in the commune "Toalla Grande", parish Los Bajos de Montecristi, through community management of tourism activity. In this context, for the development of this work a methodology was applied using a type of non-experimental research, making use of techniques such as observation and surveys, through their respective instruments using the observation form to identify the resources and attractions that this site has, the survey was applied to the inhabitants of the commune by means of a questionnaire with closed questions, which managed to obtain as a result, that the site does have the conditions to host community tourism as an activity to improve the economy and the life of its inhabitants. In addition, the interview directed to the president of the community satisfactorily evidenced positive aspects of the tourism potential that Toalla Grande has. The results showed that there are natural and cultural resources, traditions, festivities and the great interest of its inhabitants to want to venture into the tourist development of Toalla Grande, but it should be noted that there are negative aspects, such as tourist signage and the lack of training of people in relation to the issue of community tourism, so it is of utmost importance that there is support from the authorities, in short, to improve the existing conditions. Finally, at the conclusion of the research, a proposal outline was drawn up containing actions and goals through which Tolla Grande would become a center of community tourism.
