Abstract

This research examines the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in hotels located in the cities of Manta, Portoviejo and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, where it carried out an analysis on the implementation of AI in hotels, recognizing the most used tools and examining their technological elements. A theoretical framework was defined that included the definition and progress of Artificial Intelligence, in addition to its uses in the personalization of services and optimization of operational efficiency in hotels. The approach used was qualitative and descriptive, focusing on the collection of information through interviews through a questionnaire to hotel managers and workers in the aforementioned cities, with the aim of diagnosing the use of artificial intelligence in hotels in the aforementioned cities to understand the perceptions, experiences and obstacles that hoteliers encounter when adopting these technologies. It was shown that, despite progress, the incorporation of AI technologies is still recent, which limits the use of its potential in aspects of automation, personalization and process improvement. Practices and resources were proposed that have the potential to significantly increase efficiency in operations and customer experience. It was concluded that the implementation of AI technologies constitutes a strategic opportunity for hotels, making it easier for them to update their management and meet the demands of a competitive market, but that this requires greater investment in technology and staff training, to achieve an effective and lasting implementation.
