Diseño de indicadores para la sostenibilidad en actividades turísticas de las parroquias rurales de Portoviejo.

Abstract

In this work, the objective of this work is to determine the level of tourism sustainability of the parishes of Crucita and Riochico of the canton of Portoviejo, based on the design of indicators. The research is structured in three essential parts, in Chapter I, the theoretical framework is presented, including an analysis of previous studies, key concepts and theoretical models on tourism sustainability and its application in rural contexts. In Chapter II, the methodology used is detailed, describing the qualitative and quantitative approach adopted, the techniques used for data collection (surveys and the traffic light method) and the process of selecting the population and sample. Finally, in Chapter III, the results obtained through the analysis of the data collected are presented, highlighting the current conditions of sustainability of tourism activities in Crucita and Riochico, the main weaknesses and the strategies proposed to improve sustainable tourism management in these communities.
