Abstract: | This study aimed to evaluate the effects of cocoa shell supplementation on the milk production of crossbred cows. Fifteen cows were selected and divided into three groups, which received 500 g, 750 g and 1000 g of supplement, respectively, for a period of 15 days. Milk production was measured in kilograms and its composition was analyzed, focusing on fat and protein content. The results showed that cocoa shell supplementation improved both milk production and quality, significantly increasing fat and protein levels in the groups that received higher amounts of the supplement. These findings suggest that the use of by-products such as cocoa shell can be an effective and sustainable strategy to improve milk quality in crossbred cattle production. |
