Abstract: | The present research was carried out with the objective of evaluating the effect of the addition of multispecific probiotics MSP (Lactobacillus vulgaris, Saccharomyces cereviciae, Bacillus clausii) in the diet on the productive parameters in pigs in the development stage (73 to 133 days), in the canton of El Carmen. Four treatments were evaluated: T1 (Lactobacillus vulgaris), T2 (Saccharomyces cereviciae), T3 (Bacillus clausii) and T4 (Control) arranged in a Complete Randomized Design. The variables evaluated per axis were: weekly and total weight gain, feed conversion and benefit/cost ratio. The results determined that there were no statistical differences for total weight gain; numerically, a slight decrease in weight gain was observed in T4 (Control) in pigs in the development stage due to the effect of the addition of multispecific probiotics. The feed conversion ratio (FCR) did not differ from the control (p>0,05) in growing pigs due to the effect of the addition of multispecific probiotics; however, the control treatment (T4) showed numerically the highest feed conversion value and therefore the least efficient. T2 (Saccharomyces cereviciae) had the highest production cost with $736.97 USD. The treatment with the highest benefit/cost was treatment T1 (Lactobacillus vulgaris) with 1,19, that is, for every dollar invested, 19 cents of profit was obtained. |
