Abstract: Plantain cultivation is one of the most important crops in Ecuador, with the province of Manabí, particularly the canton of El Carmen, being the main production area. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of biostimulants on the propagation of Hartón plantain seedlings (Musa paradisiaca). The research was conducted using a Complete Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. The results showed no significant differences in the variables evaluated, although some noteworthy values were observed. For days to sprouting, treatment T2 (5 mL plant⁻¹) recorded an average of 6.75 days. Regarding plant height, treatment T1 (5 mL plant⁻¹) reached 30.80 cm. The germination percentage with humic acid was 95%, and the average number of roots with humic acid was 15.5. Although no significant differences were found between treatments, the use of biostimulants demonstrated potential to reduce dependence on chemical products, promoting environmentally friendly agricultural practices. In conclusion, biostimulants can contribute to sustainable agriculture by preserving natural resources and maintaining ecological balance.
