Abstract: | The present research was carried out with the objective of analyzing the incidence of meteorological factors on the growth of Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandú grass at the hree cutting ages in the canton of El Carmen. For this purpose, four treatments were evaluated: T1: Grass cutting at 20 days, T2: Grass cutting at 25 days and T3: Grass cutting at 30 days, arranged in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The variables evaluated were: grass morphology (plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf diameter) and growth performance compared to an atmospheric analysis (relative humidity, temperature, radiation and rainfall). The results determined that the age of cutting influenced the growth variables: plant height with 66.10 cm (30 days), number of leaves with 3.20 (20 days), leaf diameter 1 with 1.99 cm (30 days) and a final length on leaf 3 of 40.93 cm (30 days). In addition, there was a direct correlation between temperature and plant height (R2= 0.63), leaf diameter 1 (R2= 0.79) and 2 (R= 0.60), leaf length 3 (R2= 0.51) and above all biomass (R2= 0.99%); that is to say that temperature affects green matter production. The 30-day cutting age achieved a higher production of 3,39 t ha-1, and a tendency to increase production as a function of time was also established (R2 = 88.96%).2 |
