Abstract: Reproductive management in crossbred cows represents a challenge due to the genetic and physiological variability of this breed, which affects the efficiency of traditional estrus synchronization protocols. In this context, injectable progesterone emerges as a key tool for improving reproductive indicators. The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of injectable progesterone before initiating a synchronization protocol in crossbred cows, comparing reproductive parameters. The results indicated that the parameters achieved were significantly superior to those obtained with the J-Synch protocol. However, variance analysis showed no significant differences in variables such as follicular development and corpus luteum size between treatments that received injectable progesterone. The pregnancy rate reached 60% with the use of injectable progesterone, compared to 50% achieved with the J-Synch protocol. The estrus and ovulation presentation rate was influenced by the condition of the corpus luteum and the size of the follicle. This research focuses on evaluating the impact of using injectable progesterone in synchronization protocols, specifically in combination with the J-Synch protocol, in crossbred cows.
