Resumen : | Students excel in the use of contemporary and collaborative technological tools, such as Canva, QR codes and cloud services, while teachers focus on traditional resources and academic platforms, evidencing a generational difference in the adoption of technology and, while educators express greater satisfaction with the available technological resources, students identify deficiencies in the accessibility and usefulness of these to meet their academic requirements. This situation highlights the urgency of establishing differentiated training strategies: for educators, an orientation towards new technologies that enrich their pedagogical approaches; and for students, tools that boost their creativity and autonomy. Together, these initiatives will help reduce the technological gap, enrich the educational experience and promote comprehensive training in media skills that are aligned with the demands of today's digital environment. Currently, the well-known Media Competencies (CM) cover a central axis within the interaction between and with the media, characterized and specialized in contexts within an educational environment where generations with different levels of media literacy converge. This quantitative study compares and analyzes two populations, both differentiated from each other by the use of media skills with teachers and students of the “Eloy Alfaro” Secular University of Manabí during the year 2024. The present research encompasses the analysis obtained on the use, comprehension, skills, knowledge and production of academic contents inside and outside the educational environments for populations studied. With this objective, the scientific study focused on the three axes of Educommunication with media competences: Informational, Technological and Media. Methodologically, a quantitative approach was applied that combined the measurement tool such as the survey for the applied samples; Therefore, its quantitative study also allowed the exact data to be collected through an online Google Forms with the survey as an instrument. |
Descripción : | Los alumnos sobresalen en el uso de herramientas tecnológicas contemporáneas y colaborativas, como Canva, códigos QR y servicios en la nube, mientras que los profesores se centran en recursos tradicionales y plataformas académicas, evidenciando una diferencia generacional en la adopción de la tecnología. |
