Resumen : | This research focuses on the presence of gender violence in job interviews and job advertisements in print media in Manta. The study, with a 1 quantitative and qualitative approach, included 200 women between 20 and I 60 years of age in surveys, revealing that more than half have experienced » or are aware of cases of gender violence in work contexts. The main types of s violence reported were verbal (46.3%), psychological (15.9%) and physical (8%), along with cases of age discrimination and sexualization. In job interviews, participants identified discriminatory practices related to motherhood, sexual harassment and condescending treatment, which affects their self-esteem and vision of their professional development. Regarding job advertisements, it was found that they prolong gender stereotypes through sexist language, objectification and requirements that are discriminatory such as age limits or physical s appearance. In addition, 67.2% of those surveyed are unaware of regulations: that govern the use of women's images in advertising, which accentuates the lack of awareness about gender rights. Concluding that workplace violence is a social problem that perpetuates inequalities and limits women's opportunities. Awareness campaigns, stricter media regulations and educational strategies are proposed to transform I labor and advertising practices that can be discriminatory. This research seeks to make this problem visible in order to eradicate it and promote a work culture that is equitable and, above all, free of gender violence. |
