Abstract: The widespread use of chat language in student communities has transformed the dynamics of communication and learning in educational environments. This work reflects on the impact of these technologies on social interactions in the academic and communicative fields, considering their implications on educational performance and psychosocial dynamics of communication. Through a review of the literature, adopting a deductive approach, articles from indexed journals, books and other academic resources on the use of chat language in educational environments were analyzed, focusing on articles published between 2019 and 2024. The discussion presented reveals that the use of chat language in student communities presents both positive and negative effects. On the one hand, it facilitates collaboration, strengthens the sense of belonging and improves access to educational resources. On the other hand, it raises complex scenarios in terms of academic formality, writing skills and generational gaps in technological adoption. It was observed that between the intensive use of these platforms and variable levels in academic performance. Finally, chat language in education represents an evolution in academic communication, offering opportunities for collaborative learning. However, its effective integration requires a balanced approach that leverages its benefits while mitigating its potential negative effects.
Description: El uso generalizado del lenguaje chat en comunidades estudiantiles ha transformado las dinámicas de comunicación y aprendizaje en los entornos educativos, este trabajo reflexiona el impacto de estas tecnologías en las interacciones sociales en los ámbitos académico y comunicativo, considerando sus implicaciones en el rendimiento educativo y dinámicas psicosociales de la comunicación.
