Abstract

This thesis aims to implement a local area network (LAN) in the 6 classrooms of Unidad Educative Rumiñahui to improve internet connectivity, optimize access to technological resources, and facilitate communication within the educational environment. It was identified that students and teachers faced limitations in accessing the network and shared tools, which affected academic efficiency and the use of digital resources. The methodology was qualitative-quantitative, combining bibliographic, field, and applied research, with analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive methods. Surveys were conducted with 15 members of the teaching and administrative staff, and interviews were held with the technology department, allowing for an accurate diagnosis of the situation. The results showed that the existing network did not meet connectivity needs, which negatively impacted academic development. The project proposes the installation of a new LAN infrastructure at 6 strategic points within the classrooms, improving connection stability and speed. Equipment such as switches, routers, and network cables were installed to ensure adequate coverage, ensuring efficient connectivity for all devices. This new infrastructure will optimize internet access, improve collaboration between students and teachers, and facilitate the use of educational applications. In conclusion, the implementation of this LAN network is a key solution to address connectivity problems at Unidad Educativa Rumiñahui, improving educational quality and promoting the use of innovative technologies in the teaching-learning process, preparing students to face the challenges of the digital world.
