Abstract: Restorative dentistry aims to combine functionality, aesthetics, and psychological well being. Dental aesthetics focuses on creating teeth that harmonize with facial structures. Full crowns are a key option for restoring damaged teeth after root canal treatment. This review studied the factors that influence the success of these crowns as aesthetic rehabilitation. The thesis used a bibliographic review methodology to gather information from scientific articles and books. The research is basic, explanatory, and focuses on understanding this topic. Databases such as PubMed and SciELO were consulted, selecting recent (since 2012) and relevant studies. Unverified sources or those published before 2012 were excluded. The results were analyzed through content analysis, presented in scientific tables, to address the problem raised in the research. It was concluded that the restoration of endodontically treated teeth depends on factors such as residual structure, apical sealing, and the type of material used. Metal-ceramic crowns are durable, but metal-free ceramics, such as lithium disilicate and zirconia, offer better aesthetic results. The long-term success of crowns depends on the proper material choice, the correct technique, and patient care, with high survival rates when good follow-up is maintained.
Description: La odontología restaurativa busca combinar funcionalidad, estética y bienestar psicológico.
