Abstract: Diabetes mellitus is associated with various oral complications, such as xerostomia (dry mouth), candidiasis, mucosal ulcerations, and alterations in bone healing. When prosthetically restoring diabetic patients, it is crucial to select a prosthesis design that is simple and comfortable, facilitating the recovery of oral functions and aesthetic rehabilitation. The dry mouth and neuropathies common in these patients can make adaptation to the prostheses difficult. This study focuses on the oral health of type II diabetic patients who wear dentures, highlighting the additional challenges they face due to their condition and denture use. The main problem is that the lack of adequate oral hygiene habits can lead to serious complications, affecting both the oral and general health of the patient. The theoretical framework of the study addresses the relationship between type II diabetes and oral problems. The conclusions highlight the importance of improving education and oral hygiene habits in these patients. It is recommended to implement educational programs, encourage regular visits to the dentist and promote the use of specific oral care products. These measures are essential to improve the oral and general health of type II diabetic patients with dentures.
