Abstract: | This research presents the development and implementation of a captive portal at Ase Contable, a company located in El Carmen canton, with the objective of enhancing the security of its wireless network and providing a controlled environment for users. The identified problem is that the network, by offering unrestricted internet access, becomes susceptible to various threats such as hacking, information theft, device infections, and bandwidth saturation. The methodology employed in this project included the configuration of a virtual machine to manage network access and the design of a customized login page for user authentication. The developed captive portal integrates key functionalities, such as new user registration and the customization of the login interface with relevant information for customers. The results demonstrate that the implementation of the captive portal at Ase Contable has been effective, significantly improving network security by restricting access to authenticated users only. Additionally, users have expressed satisfaction with the ease of use and the experience of interacting with the platform. This project contributes not only to the protection of the company's internal resources but also to the strengthening of security practices in wireless networks. |
