Abstract: Currently, adolescent pregnancy is considered a public health problem and, at the same time, one of the main factors that contribute to maternal and infant mortality is why the present study focuses on a series of self-care conditions and behaviors that can lead to the appearance of various forms of manifestation of gestational hypertensive disorders. For this reason, the main objective of the study was to analyze, through bibliographic reviews, the self-care behaviors of pregnant adolescents and their influence on the appearance of arterial hypertension, following the study modality: Descriptive, analytical, and qualitative to examine bibliographic documentary sources that addressed the relationship between pregnancy in adolescents and arterial hypertension. Among the results, the journal Scielo constituted the largest percentage, 29% of the total sample investigated, highlighting the importance of the contributions of this publication. Likewise, other fundamental elements that helped to understand the situation of the problem were identified, including clinical guidelines, and articles from other indexed databases. However, although different prevention tactics focused on pregnancy have been implemented in this population, the results obtained so far have not met expectations. In conclusion, it is recommended that educational workshops be created and implemented to raise awareness among pregnant adolescents about the detection and control of risk factors for high blood pressure and the application of self-care practices to prevent complications and be able to carry a safe pregnancy.
