Abstract: | Diet therapy in patients undergoing hemodialysis plays a critical role in the management of chronic renal failure. From a nursing perspective, it involves a series of essential responsibilities. This includes nutritional assessment, education and guidance on dietary restrictions, monitoring of dietary intake during hemodialysis sessions, and monitoring of vital signs and relevant clinical parameters. The present work compiles a systematization of information on diet therapy in patients undergoing hemodialysis, using qualitative documentary and bibliographic methodology. The objective is based on determining the importance of the role of the nurse in the management of diet therapy in patients undergoing hemodialysis, since nursing plays a fundamental role in the identification and management of nutritional complications, as well as in the administration of medications. and supplements when necessary. The aim is to develop an educational manual based on the role that the nursing professional plays in the management of diet therapy from the perspective of nursing, since it covers a complete range of care, focused on improving the quality of life and well-being of patients with chronic renal failure. |
Description: | La dietoterapia en pacientes sometidos a hemodiálisis desempeña un papel crítico en el manejo de la insuficiencia renal crónica. Desde la perspectiva de la enfermería, implica una serie de responsabilidades esenciales. Esto incluye la evaluación nutricional, educación y orientación sobre las restricciones dietéticas, supervisión de la ingesta alimentaria durante las sesiones de hemodiálisis, y el monitoreo de signos vitales y parámetros clínicos relevantes. |
