Intervención de enfermería en pacientes con Neuropatía Diabética.

Abstract

Diabetic neuropathy is a prevalent complication of diabetes, affecting various body systems. Therefore, the objective was to determine the main nursing interventions performed in patients with diabetic neuropathy. The method used was bibliographic, incorporating studies by various authors from indexed journals. It was essential to use analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, and historical-logical methods, using inclusion and exclusion criteria for studies represented in indexed databases with a 10-year history of ambiguity. The results obtained showed that the main nursing interventions that can be performed in patients with diabetic neuropathy included foot care (17.4%), regular physical activity, a balanced diet, and foot hygiene (13.0%), blood glucose control, and educating the patient not to consume alcohol and tobacco (8.7%). In conclusion, the self-care guide should be used by patients with diabetic neuropathy, with the support of their families, as it integrates practical and easy-to-follow recommendations, such as foot care, glycemic control, and early detection of complications. Its use strengthens patient confidence, promotes their independence, and provides a sense of hope on the path to a better quality of life.
