Abstract: | Unauthorized disclosure of personal information, understood as the exposure of identifiable data of individuals, poses serious risks to privacy, generating emotional, social, financial and legal consequences. This study aims to analyze the implications of this problem, using a qualitative methodology based on a bibliographic review and a survey applied to 112 users to evaluate practices and perceptions about online privacy. The results highlight an alarming exposure of personal data, such as names and addresses (79%), along with risky behaviors such as the publication of third-party content without consent (93%), use of repeated passwords (66%) and acceptance of terms without prior reading (76%). 56% of respondents reported having been victims of identity theft or fraud, which reflects the correlation between bad digital practices and violation of rights. The research underlines the need to strengthen privacy education, implement more rigorous technical and legal measures and promote greater responsibility in the use of personal data, considering the ethical and social implications of its management in the digital age. |
