Abstract: | Urban mobility plays a pivotal role in the economic and social development of modern societies, requiring efficient transportation systems governed by effective traffic control measures. In Ecuador, traffic control has become a critical factor in ensuring road safety and public order. However, the current enforcement-based approach has raised concerns regarding fairness and citizen satisfaction. This research employs both qualitative and quantitative methods, including survey-based analysis, to explore the urgent need for a more equitable and transparent traffic control system. The study advocates for a shift from punitive practices to a model centered on education, prevention, and the protection of citizen rights, aiming to build a safer and more just urban transit environment. |
