La expresión artística en la sensibilización sobre diversidad e inclusión universitaria. Revisión sistemática.

Abstract

This study examines how the arts foster awareness of diversity and inclusion in higher education. A PRISMA-guided systematic review (2020–2025) was conducted in Scopus, SciELO, Latindex 2.0 and Dialnet, identifying 18 empirical articles in Spanish or English. Data were coded by art form, diversity axis, country and findings. Applied theatre (33 %) and collaborative visual arts (17 %) predominate, with emphasis on socioeconomic exclusion and sexual-gender diversity. Results show that artistic interventions create safe spaces for dialogue, strengthen self-esteem and challenge stereotypes, although geographical (limited research outside Europe) and methodological gaps (scarce quantitative designs) persist. The arts thus complement inclusive policies by activating the affective dimension required to transform university culture. Future research should diversify artistic languages, broaden global coverage and adopt mixed methods to assess long-term impacts.
