Diagnóstico del estado situacional de las agencias de viajes de Manta, durante la pandemia covid-19, año 2020.

Abstract

This research has the general objective of determining the situational status of the travel agencies of the Manta canton, during the COVID-19 pandemic, year 2020. The methodological approach is qualitative, relying on the analytical-synthetic method. Regarding the techniques, an interview questionnaire is applied to nine managers of the agencies that are active and comply with a series of parameters established in the project. In addition, documentary or bibliographic analysis is used to review the financial statements of the selected agencies. With respect to the results obtained, there is evidence of a decrease in the asset, liability and equity accounts, this in relation to the general balance sheets. The income statement shows a decline in income, costs and expenses. Regarding the net profit, they had an economic imbalance and in seven agencies the losses rose. The interviewees stated that the presentation of the financial statements is excellent. In the social aspect, he considers customer service excellent, in the same way in the operational field, the development of tourist packages is excellent. For what the contributions to protect the environment, application of standards and policies are considered as very good. In general terms, it is concluded that among the main theoretical references that support the situational state of the travel agencies of the Manta canton as a variable object of study, the following stand out: Tyson and Jackson, (1997); Contreras (2005); Remuzgo, (2005): Saldaña (2013) and Guerrero and Ramos, (2014).
