Abstract: Gestational hypertension receives this name when it is first discovered after 20 weeks of gestation without proteinuria. Currently, there are a large number of women who are not detected with gestational hypertension and therefore are not given due follow-up, which can generate complications in the future, both in the health of women and children. The objective of this research is to carry out a comparative analysis in scientific studies on the main risk factors for gestational hypertension and social determinants. As for the methodology used, bibliographic review is used in sources such as theses, scientific articles and reports of Health Organizations at the global and national levels. Likewise, the comparative method is used to observe the similarities and differences between the documents consulted. Conclusion Through the review of the literature and the comparison of several studies, it is determined that the different risk factors for gestational hypertension are early (less than 20 years old) and late (over 35 years old) pregnancy. Other aspects such as overweight, nullity and also the living conditions of the patient (socioeconomic reality) are also involved.
