El analfabetismo y su incidencia en el ámbito laboral en las mujeres del barrio San Juan de la ciudad de Manta, años 2024 – 2025.

Abstract

Illiteracy is a social problem that primarily affects women in rural areas, limiting their opportunities for personal, social, and professional development. The main objective of this research was to analyze the incidence of illiteracy in the workplace among women in the San Juan neighborhood of Manta, during the years 2024-2025. It focused on identifying illiteracy levels, their causes and consequences, and their impact on access to formal employment and working conditions. The hypothesis was that illiteracy negatively influences the working conditions of women in the studied area. The study was based on a quantitative approach, with descriptive and explanatory research, using the deductive and statistical methods, and collecting data through surveys among women in the San Juan neighborhood. The results showed that illiteracy significantly limits access to formal employment, generating precarious working conditions, low wages, and high vulnerability. It was also found that this situation perpetuates a cycle of poverty and gender inequality, affecting both women and their families. In conclusion, it was determined that illiteracy represents a significant barrier to the personal and professional development of women in Barrio San Juan. Therefore, it is necessary to implement inclusive educational policies and literacy programs adapted to the reality of this sector, thus promoting social equity and better living conditions.
