Abstract: The main objective of this research was to determine the impact of alcohol consumption on the social acceptance of young people at the Unidad Educativa Bahía de Manta during the years 2024–2025. The study was based on the analysis of various social and psychological theories that provide an integral understanding of the phenomenon, such as Social Identity Theory, Peer Pressure Theory, and the Psychosocial Model of Social Work. Using a quantitative and explanatory methodology, a survey was administered to students in order to gather information about their perceptions, experiences, and attitudes toward alcohol consumption. The results show that, although not all adolescents consume alcohol, social pressure can influence their decision, especially in group settings. Common causes identified include curiosity, the desire for acceptance, and the pursuit of fun. Many of the consequences of alcohol use are reflected in family conflicts, emotional deterioration, and poor academic performance. Although many students acknowledge the negative effects of alcohol, some still associate it with social integration. This study contributes significantly to the field of Social Work, as it provides a solid foundation for future interventions aimed at promoting the comprehensive well-being of adolescents. It also confirms a relationship between alcohol consumption and social acceptance, although it is not a determining factor. In conclusion, the study highlights the need to implement preventive strategies within educational, family, and institutional environments that promote adolescent health and overall development.
