Abstract

The research project seeks to understand the role of support networks as a protective factor in cases of domestic violence in the Casa de la Mujer de Manta, given that it is a social problem that violates human rights affecting the physical, emotional and mental health of the victims, in the face of this reality the key role played by support networks as elements of containment is recognized. accompaniment and recovery of the victims, which is why this research aims to identify the effectiveness of these networks through the perspective of the users and the professionals who make up the multidisciplinary team; Social worker, lawyer, psychologist. Therefore, a qualitative methodology is used using the semi-structured interview technique based on the phenomenological method to know the lived experience of the users cared for at the Casa de la Mujer de Manta, likewise, due to the emotional charge of the subject, any form of revictimization was avoided to prioritize the emotional well-being of the users. obtaining results that show that informal networks provide emotional support, but the formal networks provided in the institution are also key to get out of the cycle of violence since they provide comprehensive care, in addition, it is concluded that these support networks not only protect, but also transform the lives of the victims, that is why it is recommended that the Casa de la Mujer continue to open up this type of social research since it allows their functions to be made visible, generate knowledge and strengthen inter-institutional links to improve their capacity to respond to this social problem.
