Abstract

This research, titled "Social Services and Their Impact on the Quality of Life of People with Disabilities in the GAD-MIES Care and Training Unit in Manta Canton," was designed to understand how these social services contribute to well-being, inclusion, and social integration. This population is considered a priority for attention groups that, throughout history and up to the present, have faced significant barriers to accessing basic physical and structural services, as well as job placement. The methodology applied was qualitative, using the phenomenological method. Interviews were conducted to analyze perceptions regarding the degree of satisfaction from the experiences of families and professionals involved in providing services. This approach made it possible to understand the types of population served, their individual needs, and whether or not the services provided contribute to their quality of life. The results reflect that the services provided contribute positively to the development of this priority group, demonstrating transformations in fundamental skills such as writing and language, enabling social integration and skill development. Another of the most significant findings is that some of the users were placed in the workforce. Therefore, the research determines that efficient management of financial resources and a focus on infrastructure adaptation are essential to improve the efficiency and quality of the services offered in the GAD-MIES care and training unit for people with disabilities.
